Why Sub-Zero is worth repairing.
Sub-Zero units are built for a twenty to thirty year service life, and parts remain available for series other manufacturers abandoned long ago. That changes the economics. A repair that would be borderline on a mass-market fridge is almost always the right call on a Sub-Zero, especially once you count the cabinetry work a replacement requires. The most common fault we find is also the most preventable: a condenser coil that has never been cleaned.

How often should a Sub-Zero condenser coil be cleaned?
Every six months, and more often with pets or near the coast. A clogged condenser is the single most common cause of a Sub-Zero running constantly or failing to hold temperature, and it is the cheapest problem to prevent.
Is it worth repairing a Sub-Zero that is fifteen years old?
In most cases yes. These units are designed to run for decades and parts are still made for older series. The exception is a failed sealed system on a unit past twenty years, where we will tell you plainly if replacement is the better spend.
